Introduction on childhood obesity
In fact, obesity has been recognized as a global threat to the long term survival of the human race as obesity is already leading to significant mortality, morbidity and reduced life span!
The children of today are considered to be one of the only known generations of humans that are predicted to live less than their parents, thanks to the devastating effect of obesity on life span!

What is the secret of understanding the true cause of my child’s weight?
- What is causing my child to crave all the sugary or starchy foods? Could there be a metabolic problem such as insulin resistance causing this?
- My child has some thicker or darker lines or patches in the neck(Acanthosis Nigricans). Are these signs of insulin resistance?
- Where can I find a physician trained in reversing the effects of insulin resistance and reduce the long term health risks such as diabetes?
- Did we misunderstand the true cause of weight gain – insulin resistance in our oversimplified approach of “calories in, calories out”?
